Our Story
We are Luke and Nikki Malski. We have always felt a strong connection to nature and believe in biodynamic principles where plants, animals, soil, and the environment work in harmony. We started our Grand Rapids-based family farm in 2010, implementing holistic methods that enable us to grow produce with love and good karma, providing organic food with incredible flavor and nutrition.
Through the years, we have added to our farm, producing organically grown produce, open pollinated spring garden seedlings, custom organic garden services, vermiculture supplies, and heritage pork.
In 2010, we began collecting food waste from local restaurants, building experience in composting organic materials, raising worms, and creating planting soils.
We brought that knowledge to Grand Rapids Compost, aligning our passion for sustainability and the love for our community. Focusing on residential food waste curbside collection enables us to have meaningful impact right at home - empowering our neighbors to close the loop and turn food scraps into nutrient-rich compost.
